The Concept of Art

3 Feb

I believe that art cannot and should not be completely defined. The very nature of art requires the ability to evolve and change constantly. By defining art you are limiting it. I also feel that the definition of art is personal, and everyone will consider art a little differently than other people. In my opinion, art is here sometimes to make you think, sometimes only to look nice. Art does not have to be something that you would want to hang up in your home, it can be the concept that you like or find interesting. You could not write up a list of mediums that defines art, art can be made from anything. What comes to mind now is the famous phrase ‘Beauty is in the eye of the beholder’. Art is in the eye of the artist, and also the audience, but not necessarily both.
